How we use your data
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry and arrange an initial consultation | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) |
| Provide the advisory services you engage us for | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) |
| Improve our website and service (aggregated, anonymised analytics) | Legitimate interest |
We will never sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing.
Third-party sharing
We do not sell your data or share it for marketing. We use trusted service providers — for example our hosting and email providers — to operate this site and to communicate with you, and they process data only on our instructions. Where an engagement requires us to approach third parties on your behalf (for example, inviting installers to tender), we do so only on your instruction and share only what is necessary.
Data retention
- Enquiry records: retained for 12 months after last contact, then securely deleted.
- Engagement records: retained for the duration of the engagement and for up to 6 years afterwards to meet legal and professional obligations, then deleted.
- Anonymised analytics data: retained indefinitely in aggregate form.
Cookies & analytics
Our site uses only essential cookies and Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled. No advertising or tracking cookies are set. You can disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings; the enquiry form will still function.
Your UK GDPR rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") where processing relies on consent or legitimate interest
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances
- Data portability for data you provided
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We will respond within one calendar month.
Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures (TLS encryption, access controls, regular vulnerability scans) to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration.
